    1. I think he mentioned that he hates the chorus because of the yelling and finds that annoying. He said that whatever it is new they are trying is not working for him.

Not to mention I Bet My Life being overplayed in 2015 probably didn't help.

  8. New Music Alert: Shining by DJ Khaled featuring Beyonce and Jay-Z

This one I actually kinda like, unlike the two singles from Major Key.

    1. I do really like that one. And I believe there were four singles from Major Key: For Free, I Got The Keys, Holy Key, and Do You Mind.

      Delete
    2. Heh, yeah, I forgot about that, I was referring to the first two, the ones that had the most chart success, For Free and I Got The Keys (the former of which made YE, the latter of which barely missed it). Holy Key was a one-weeker if memory serves, and Do You Mind got caught between years (and even then it still probably would've been super close).

    3. I thought you were referring to For Free and Do You Mind. And yeah, I think Holy Key was a one-weeker.

Out the list of exits in this prediction, Unsteady is the only one still here. It's also the only one that left/will leave the countdown this year.

  15. #1 Recommendation For Hits 1: Madeintyo - Skateboard P

I just discovered this song and it's really good! It's so good it might even go straight to COAEP this week.

    1. Skateboard P won't make Hits 1, 'cuz it's a hip-hop song.

    3. No, just watch the Spectrum Pulse and LP Club collab review of it on the LP's channel.

      Delete
  17. So, let's do a guess the song. This one should be easy.
    - On my final week at #1 on the Hot 100, not only was I then #1 on the countdown, but there were no exits then.
    - When the NOW album I was on released, I then had the biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! on the following countdown.
    - 5 Seconds of Summer hosted my final week on the countdown.

Again, this shouldn't be hard. Who am I?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Don't know. Centuries' last week at #1 was a 0-exit week, and 5SOS hosted its final week on the countdown if memory serves. But it didn't hit #1 on the BBH100 and when the NOW album was released it didn't have the biggest drop. That's all I can think of.

      Delete
    2. Another hint: I was the only #1 on said NOW album.

And to reiterate the first hint, remember that Billboard charts are published as a weekend ahead of the coming one (so, in the case of this one's final week at #1, the countdown in question was immediately after that). This was while Billboard would update their weekly Hot 100 on Thursdays and not Tuesdays. So, the countdown on, say, May 9th, would come after the May 16th published chart.

      Delete
    3. Eh, since nobody has guessed it, then I'll reveal it: Blank Space. Final week at #1 on Hot 100 ended January 3, 2015 (dated 1/10), there it was #1 on the countdown. It was on Now 54, which released 5/4, then on 5/9 it had biggest drop. Its final week on the countdown was 8/22, which was hosted by 5sauce (I remember because that was one of the most infamous weeks among this countdown community).

      Delete
    4. Dang it. I was thinking that they both had the same last week at #1 on Hits 1.

      Delete
  18. #1 Recommendation for Hits 1: Jalen Santoy - Foreplay

  19. There were 1222222 pageviews a second ago. Just wanted to point that out.

  20. Let me do a guess the song:
-I was #22 on my second week on the WC
-I debuted the same week one of our most hated songs of 2014 left
-I left the same week one of our most loved songs of 2015 debuted
-All people who debuted the same week I left did not have anymore songs on the WC after that...
-Yet one of the debuting people had a song after that that was stranded on Hit-Bound
-I currently have a song on the WC as a featured artist

    5. Debuted when All about that bass left
Debuted at # 31, then went up 9 spots to #22
      Is featured on green light

      Delete
    6. Yeah, Bright would fit in any other category tho.

      Delete
    7. In the week that it left, a song from X Ambassadors and a song from Justin Bieber debuted. They had other singles after those 2 songs that debuted and none of the people from the debut list had HitBound dropouts.

      Delete
    8. Actually, Pentatonix did but it was on HitBound for only 1 week so it wasn't strandead.

      Delete
    9. I thought "stranded" was when it exits Hit-Bound.

      Delete
    10. The clues, broken down:
      -#22 on 2nd week, 2/28/15
-Debuted the same week All About That Bass left
-Left the same week Octahate debuted
-Ryn Weaver, Nate Ruess, Shaggy, Mohombi, Faydee, Costi, and Carly Rae Jepsen did not have any other countdown songs after that
-Jepsen had the song Run Away With Me on Hit-Bound but left
      -Greenlight currently on WC

  21. Good post Adrian! The Hot 45 Chart is also out just in time for Valentine's Day's departure, <3 :( :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. My turn:
    - I was in the top 50 on Billboard's Year-End list.
    - I peaked in the top 5 on COAEP.
    - I have no featured artists.

    This should be pretty easy.

    1. Kent Jones - Don't Mind
      Drake - Controlla
      Desiigner - Panda

      Delete
    2. Panda peaked at #25, so it's not that. I guess another clue would be that it was from a really popular album?

      Delete
    3. It must be Controlla. I knew you liked Panda a lot so I forgot how it did on COAEP.

      Delete
    4. It is Controlla. I was going to say that it had two runs, but that would make it WAY too obvious.

      Delete
  23. My Turn:
It left the Weekend Countdown on a 6 exit week.
    Adrian didn't like this song.
When it debuted, it was in the 20s.
There was a Weekend takeover by a guest host in the week that it debuted.
It had less than a 10 week tenure.
The #1 was a Taylor Swift song in the week that it left.

    ReplyDelete
  24. My turn:
-I was the highest drop-off on DanielESMoines' Mi Fav 20.
-All but one person tolerates me.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'll do like 3 for guess the song in the morning. :P

    ReplyDelete
  26. So, seeing as how next week's Hot 100 is gonna be an interesting chart, between the Grammys, 50 Shades Darker, Katy Perry, and some other factors, I might actually review that one. I had thoughts of getting into doing the Hot 100 at the beginning of the chart year back in November, and maybe doing it similar to how Cicabe Plays does it, but didn't carry through with it.

And before you ask, here's how he does it:
    Top 20
Fell Off Top 20 (songs that left Top 20)
Big Gains (10+ or more spot jumps)
    Moderate Gains (5 - 9 spot jumps)
Big Losses (10+ or more spot drops)
Moderate Jumps (10+ or more spot drops)
    Dropouts
    Returning Entries
    New Entries
    New and Returning Entries Ranked

Unlike Spectrum Pulse's Billboard Breakdown, where he talks about what's going on specifically with the songs in the Top 10, Cicabe only does any discussion during the new/returning entries.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. So it will be exactly how Cicabe does it?

      Delete
    2. I'm not sure. Maybe, as that'd be easier, but it doesn't go as greatly in detail. I would provide comments though.

  27. I Hate U, I Love U is off the voting poll!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. SML (TYNL) too!
Maybe 02/25/17 will be another 6+ exit week. This week doesn't look like it because it looks like we will only have 1 debut.

And don't say that Hymn For The Weekend is unavailable for vote because it was always unavailable.

  28. Here's another guess the song...
The song was a lone debut on the countdown.
In the week it left, Adrian had it in pink.
The same artist of this song had another song that was on HitBound, but never made the countdown.
This song debuted and left the countdown in 2016.

  38. I kinda wanted to do a BBH100 post this week, but I already have two posts I'm working on, so I'll do a mini review right now.

    - I will always hate our #1 song, no matter the consequences.
    - I'm surprised about #4 re-entering so high. I thought it would be maybe #15 or something like that.
    - I'm so happy about the jump from #6. Now let's get it even higher!
    - No Favors is good, but I don't like when Eminem calls Trump a bitch. I think #22 was a little too high though.
    - Cheap Thrills is finally gonna leave next week and I'm so freaking happy!!!
    - But why the hell did Call Casting have to leave...

    Top 5:
    1. T-Shirt
    2. No Heart
    3. Bad and Boujee
    4. Both (I think it's still on there but if it's not then whatever)
    5. Selfish

    Bottom 5:

-This is my artist's first entry on the WC.

    2. I'm just going to ignore this from now on. Well, until someone actually does something about this.

    3. Yeah, me too. If he's really a troll, he should be ignored, so that's what we'll do.

  43. Try this guess the song:
    - I am by two different artists, both of whom have ten letters in their name.
    - I spent at least 10 weeks on COAEP.
    - If you multiply the number of weeks I spent on COAEP by my peak, then divide it by the spot I dropped off from, you'll get 2.1. So (wp)d = 2.1.

This might be difficult, but someone will probably get it at some point.

  47. Also, for anyone who may still be wondering when my 2016 Year-End Hot 100 piece will finally come out... Well, let's just say that I have formed opinions on most of the songs, but there are still a few I need to revisit and ultimately decide on. Then I need to talk about them...ho boy.

I don't have work on Friday, so I am hoping to finally have it out by then at the latest.

    2. Alright Chase, you need to stop this. Why do you want to lie to us? You're constantly telling people to be nice and stop cursing when you're doing something wrong, lying, yourself. Does this make you feel good? Does this make you a better person? If not then please quit because none of us like it.

    3. It Ain't Me is actually new on Hits 1.

    4. Not surprising, considering it literally just dropped this morning.

    5. Parker, if you want this to stop, I suggest you do something about it. This is the third or fourth time I have said this and no one has done anything yet.

    6. There's honestly not much I can do other than tell him to stop. I looked up how I can deal with it, and it said to contact an administrator or moderator, which in this case is Adrian. So Adrian, if you're reading this, it's up to you to do something.

    7. I have another idea I thought of before but it's kinda strange and risky. The idea was to contact Chase's school (for children/adults with autism). I don't want myself to do this and also I won't say the school name, but Chase has mentioned it before.

      Delete
    8. That's how I know the name, from Chase.

  50. I don't know how you keep doing this. The music started to go bad before I called it quits and these days it's as rough as ever. Thank goodness for Handclap...at least there's one great song on the playlist. Closer and Kids have been pretty worthwhile and then...man, it's hard to have a strong positive reaction to anything else out there.

I've yet to hear the new Katy Perry...hopefully it's a throwback to her glory days rather than the mixed bag since Teenage Dream.

    3. I completely agree. Pop is definitely going downhill these days. That's one reason why I switched to reviewing rap charts. There are like, what, 10 good songs on the countdown right now.

Also, you should definitely listen to the new Katy Perry song. It's really good.

    4. Whoa! Hey there, bro! I visit your page on occasion, nice to see things for old time's sake. I wasn't the biggest fan of 2016's music. It's very impressive you never got sick of Shut Up and Dance, though.
