New Entrants
~ Earlier this year, we had Kamikaze by on this countdown, which I said was a definite contender for the Bottom 5 Songs of 2016. Well this week's lone new entrant, Kent Jones – Don't Mind, is the second definite contender this year. I don't get what's so good about this song. The production is extremely lazy (like all rap songs nowadays). The dude's voice is annoying as well. And no, adding in words in different languages, which he probably got from Google Translate, does not help make this song any better than a piece of trash. I must be in the bizarro world if people actually think this shit is good. Now because of this people often times think I hate all rap and that is most certainly not true. Rap was at one of its highest points when we had artists like Eminem, B.o.B, Fort Minor, etc. But unfortunately, rap has gone downhill ever since and it's sad to see that songs like this one and Desiigner – Panda are what are representing this genre of music at this time. Looking at the chart success of both Don't Mind and Panda, it's embarrassing. Oh well. I think I've done enough ranting (for now). Overall, it's safe to say that Don't Mind is the new worst song of the year and I really hope it has weak chart success. Really saddening that this is the song to replace Love Yourself. But please keep in mind that this is all my opinion.

Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:

  • Flo Rida/Jason Derulo – Hello Friday
  • Adele – Send My Love (To Your New Lover)
  • Magic! – Red Dress
  • AJR – I'm Not Famous
  • Alesso/Nico & Vinz – I Wanna Know
  • The 1975 – The Sound
  • Symon – Say
  • Lukas Graham – Mama Said
  • Disturbed – The Sound of Silence
  • Jordan Fisher – All About Us
  • Jacob Whitesides – Lovesick
  • Drake/WizKid/Kyla – One Dance
  • Bebe Rexha/Nicki Minaj – No Broken Hearts
  • Ben Rector – Brand New

Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. Alesso/Nico & Vinz – I Wanna Know
2. Drake/WizKid/Kyla – One Dance
3. Bebe Rexha/Nicki Minaj – No Broken Hearts
4. Jordan Fisher – All About Us
5. Disturbed – The Sound of Silence

Don't Blurb
~ The Chainsmokers/Daya – Don't Let Me Down made a very unexpected leap to #2 this week. I have no problem with this song hitting #1, and I won't really care if it doesn't. It's one of those songs where I honestly don't really care either way.

~ However, I still want P!nk – Just Like Fire to hit #1. That'd be really nice.

~ Looks like All Time Low – Missing You and Ruth B. – Lost Boy made their comebacks.

~ Pitbull/Enrique Iglesias – Messin' Around is pretty much leaving every chart at this point. I am losing interest in this song, so I don't really care too much about its short tenure.

~ Justin Bieber – Love Yourself left rather sooner than I expected. Honestly, who knows when Justin Bieber will have another song on this countdown because they apparently decided to skip right over Company. I'm hoping there can be another single from Purpose soon.

~ Timeflies – Once In A While is really doing nothing on this countdown. I often times forget it's still here likely because of its lack of doing anything noticeable on this countdown.

~ Charlie Puth/Selena Gomez – We Don't Talk Anymore jumped into the Top 20 this week, which is really nice to see.

~ Meanwhile, Kill Em With Kindness dropped to #27, which is also nice to see although I'm sure it'll be jumping again in no time. This song is rather boring and very annoying in my opinion.

~ 5 Seconds Of Summer – Jet Black Heart stayed here much longer than I thought it would. It's definitely the most successful single from Sounds Good Feels Good on this countdown. I was getting sick of it, but I've been enjoying it again lately. It's very possibly my favorite song from 5 Seconds Of Summer with how long it has stuck with me.

~ Gwen Stefani – Make Me Like You is getting more annoying after each listen. I actually want this song to leave at this point.

~ OneRepublic – Wherever I Go made a nice jump up to #24 this week. It's too good of a song to let go of too early and I'm sure Hits 1 knows that with their love for OneRepublic.

~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is out! Find out if Zara Larsson/MNEK – Never Forget You can hold at #1 for a second week in a row!

Also Adrian what's your opinion on DJ Khaled/Drake - For Free?

    5. So is Me Too but you love that. If you can love a god-awful attempt for Meghan to try Wiggle meets K-Pop go right ahead.

      Delete
    6. Don't Mind is straight up trash. I thoroughly agree with Mikey that it sounds like something satirical.

For Free is pretty bad too imo. But it's not really one of the worst songs of the year like Don't Mind.

      Delete
    7. What about Drake/Rihanna - Too Good? I think you would like that one

    8. Too Good is actually pretty good because it's Drake in more of the pop/R&B type sound that I like from him.

  15. I have to say it; no matter how bad this song is, I just don't hate it. If Me Too can be Adrian's guilty pleasure, then Don't Mind is my guilty pleasure of 2016.

Our lone exit was one that I'm glad left. It was more boring than Thinking Out Loud, which is ironic considering Ed Sheeran actually co-wrote this.

I am so glad that Can't Stop The Feeling is #1 again.

Wow, 7 Years took a big drop, that I didn't expect. Well it doesn't matter to me anymore, because I'm over the song. And no . I don't hate it, just shut up about it.

Why did Missing you have to jump 10+ spots?

I'm glad that Hits 1 didn't get rid of Never Forget You.

Am I still the only one who loves Stressed Out? Not even the overplay can kill this song for me. I've listened to this song 10 times a day, and I still love it.

I don't think One Dance is going to debut on the countdown. If it does though, It'll do a Hotline Bling and flop after 3 weeks.

Can we please get I Wanna Know and Send My Love onto the countdown soon?

Finally, I don't have to put Work From Home as the worst song in the top 20 anymore. Its still the worst song on the countdown.

    Top 5:
    1. Can't Stop The Feeling
    2. Stressed Out

HASN'T ANYONE NOTICED THAT ONE DANCE IS ON HITS 1 NOW?!?!?!?!?!?!?

    1. Also I think Don't Mind is decent, but definitely better than Panda.
Right now Figure Me Out is the worst song on the countdown, IMO.

    3. Ah, I'll take Panda and its incompetence; I can't be the only one here who finds that funny-bad.

I'm sorry, but…worse than Work (From Home), Me Too, Lost Boy, and Hands to Myself? o_O

    4. I noticed One Dance on Hits 1 and I'm happy even though they're just a little late with it.

    2. Why do you think I have all of these as guilty pleasures?

      Delete
    3. Hollaback Girl and Right Round I always loved. Gangnam Style was a big guilty pleasure of mine as well.

      Delete
    4. Hollaback Girl has been heavily criticized, and actually has split critics of the song in half.

Right Round is very controversial, mainly because of the chorus being about oral sex.

Gangnam Style is just so random. I don't know why some people don't like this.

      Delete
    5. Another guilty pleasure song I have is Physical by Olivia Newtown-John. Just watch the music video and listen to the lyrics in the chorus and you'll see what I mean.

      Delete
    6. I think people dislike Gangnam Style for the fact that it's the #1 video on YouTube. And I don't think I'd remember Physical off-hand, but if it's in the Top 10 of Billboard's Greatest of All Time it has to be good o_O

      Delete
    7. Physical was the #1 song of 1982, the #1 song of the 1980s, and is the #8 song of all time. The reason I mention it is because the video and the lyrics are very risqué to say the least. But from all the songs I've listened to for the past decade, this is tame compared to the shit we have now.

    1. Dang, that is pretty darn great alright. There are definitely some greats I disagree with there (most notably All About That Bass, Fight Song, Animals, and of course, Bitch Better Have My Money), but I won't question all those opinions because glad to see another that enjoyed this year a lot. You'll see how much different mine looks most likely in a few days.

    2. I still don't see all the hate toward Fight Song. I would call it the most over-hated song of 2015. I have already heard all the arguments against the song, but I don't care.

      Delete
    3. Why is She Knows at 100 and a 0. That song is is my top 20 for 2015 probably.

      Delete
    4. Because the lyrics make it a strip club anthem, the obnoxious baby noise that is played almost 20 times in the song suggest pedophilia, and that obnoxious French horn.

I told her, "Shawty, you so right, but you so wrong"
(So wrong, so wrong, so wrong)
She said, "Daddy, I'll be back after this song"
      "Then you taking me home" {Yep}

      WHY NE-YO, WHY?!?!?!
