Twenty One Pilots (2) – Week Of February 27, 2016

Fun fact: It was exactly one year ago when the internet began the whole debate as to whether this certain dress was blue and black or white and gold. Here's the picture again to give you a refresher as to what it looks like.

It still looks blue and black to me. But now I definitely see why some people would say white and gold. But let's leave that whole mess in 2015, shall we? Before we get to this week's Fresh 45, here are the songs we're saying goodbye to this week.

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago: Taylor Swift – Blank Space

Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: Tori Kelly – Hollow (–13)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: One Direction – Drag Me Down (+12)

New Entrants
~ Our lone entrant this week is a re-entry from Panic! At The Disco – Victorious, which managed to complete an average Hit-Bound tenure after exiting the countdown the first time around.

Blurbtorious
~ *looks at #2* Why?!?! Why would you boost Drag Me Down back up to #2 like that??? I may not have cared much before, but now it's infuriating. I really did not want to hate this song, but now it's pretty much impossible not to hate it.

~ *looks at #3* I'm not necessarily happy about this either. This song is no longer Top 10 material, let alone Top 3 material. But thanks to Hits 1's obsession for One Direction, it probably won't be moving anytime soon. If you couldn't tell that Hits 1 has an obsession for One Direction, they have made it extremely obvious this week.

~ Adele – When We Were Young needs to get away from the Top 10. Let's please not add anymore trash to it. We already have Drag Me Down, Hello, and In The Night.

~ Taylor Swift – Wildest Dreams and Ed Sheeran – Photograph need to go back to where they belong: below #30.

~ Troye Sivan – Youth just made a Tori Kelly – Hollow floppy second week jump up only three spots. I don't want to see this song flop. It deserves some chart success.

~ Speaking of Hollow, it clearly did not take long for this song to fall back to #39. It appears that Tori Kelly's music is gradually getting weaker in chart performance as each single goes by, with the inferior Nobody Love having the best countdown performance of her three singles managing to peak somewhere in the Top 20.

~ Songs like Dawin – Dessert, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats – S.O.B., and Jason Derulo – Get Ugly are some serious countdown fillers right now. They are easily forgotten and probably won't last that much longer, hopefully.

~ I am starting to grow out of Zayn Malik – Pillowtalk. It's slowly becoming less interesting after each listen.

~ Kicking Renegades out of the countdown makes absolutely no progress in removing all the bad songs.

~ Last week was indeed the 52-week mark for Walk The Moon – Shut Up and Dance. One year ago this week was when the song debuted the countdown. I still don't see this song leaving for another couple months or so.

~ Earlier this week on the Hit 45 Chart, I posted the Top Songs of 2015 based off of Hit 45 Chart performance! You should definitely check it out if you haven't already!

~ Most Missed Countdown Song: David Guetta/Usher – Without You

~ #1 Recommendation For Hits 1: Mike Posner/SeeB – I Took A Pill In Ibiza

My Top 5 Picks
1. Ellie Goulding – Something In The Way You Move
2. Twenty One Pilots – Stressed Out
3. Justin Bieber – Love Yourself
4. 5 Seconds Of Summer – Jet Black Heart
5. Justin Bieber – Sorry

  2. Yeah, Something in the Way You Move needs to move up. It's a great song. :)

Why is Drag Me Down so high up? WHYYYYYYYY?

  3. Well, Walk The Moon - Shut Up And Dance didn't even deserve to last a year on the countdown.

    ReplyDelete
  4. One Direction at 2 & 3? I don't know when the last time the same group was next to each other and in the top 5. Shows that Hits 1 has gone downhill. And Twenty One Pilots can't save that boulder.

    1. I know. I can't recall the last time the same artist/group had two songs right next to each other.

      Delete
    2. I think Taylor Swift had #1 & #3 but that is the closest that I can think off.

      Delete
    3. She did. But there has not been an artist with two songs back to back.

      Delete
    4. It's not like, a written rule or anything. It's just inferred by us based off of how they place multiple songs from the same artist on the countdown. But I don't think they have an actual written rule that they're supposedly breaking.

      Delete
  5. The only prediction I got right was Renegades leaving, and I'm upset it left.

I'm not at all angry that Stressed Out spent a 2nd week at #1, but I am disappointed that Cake By The Ocean didn't hit #1, which I thought it would.

I grew back into Wildest Dreams and On My Mind this week.

We got rid of one old but still great song, and replaced it with another old but great song.

Anyone else notice that 2 One Direction songs are literally right next to each other, back to back. I think that is a first on this countdown.

Can Dessert please leave, its just an awful space filler.

Why the hell did Photograph jump to #26!?!

Get Ugly and S.O.B. are the worst songs on the countdown and shouldn't belong here.

I really want to see Kamikaze enter the top 20 soon.

Roses jumped back to the top 20, yay!

Pillowtalk, Out Of The Woods, and Stand By You dropped, boo!

When is Work gonna debut?! Its currently #1 on the Hot 100, it should've debuted by now!

Oh boy Shut Up And Dance lasted a full year on the countdown, yay! *In a sarcastic tone*

The dress is blue and black, by the way. The white and yellow is most definitely the sunlight from the window.

I've been thinking of doing some song reviews, and I want to know what you guys think. I will tell you, I'd review them I bit differently than how most would. I'd review them based on the vocals, the instrumentals used, the lyrics in the song and then give my overall thoughts and give it a percent ranking from 0-100. (Get it, 'cause its a Drake song)

Anything over 80% would be an acceptable song, and anything under 60% would be an abysmal one. So tell me what do you guys think.

    5. I'd rather have Clinton as president over Trump any day of the week. But I would love for Cruz or Rubio to win the nomination (If the voters weren't so stupid enough to vote for Trump)

      Delete
    6. Hillary Clinton is probably the candidate I dislike the least. I don't really like Bernie Sanders that much, but I can live with him. Donald Trump is an idiot who better not become President or I'm going to move out of the United States.

      Delete
    7. I hate Bernie Sanders the most, because I think he doesn't know what he's talking about, same with Trump, who is a very close second. Clinton is third because I don't trust people who lie to save their own ass, and let 4 Americans die on foreign soil.

Ben Carson just bores me, that's all. I like Kasich, but I don't think he has a shot, not even in his state of Ohio. I think Cruz or Rubio are the best candidates, because their policies remind me more of a young Ronald Regan, or JFK.

      Delete
    8. I really don't like any of our candidates this time around. I dislike the Republican candidates the most. It's going to be very close for the Democratic candidates. But I see the final debate going down between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

      Delete
    9. Bernie Sanders does have a pretty good shot though with how much a lot of people seem to like him.

      Delete
    10. He only has 71 delegates, compared to Clinton's 505.

I just hope to see someone good win that isn't Trump, Clinton or Sanders, or else I'd be gone to Britain in a heartbeat.

      Delete
    11. Idk. I can't really see any other candidates besides those three potentially winning.

      Delete
    12. I can see Clinton and Trump as the two possible candidates to go head-to-head in November. Either way, I might as well get my ticket for Britain.

    2. That's a terrible 6+ DTHNOB week, because the exits were to great to leave, the re-entry sucked, the debuts ranged from good to mediocre, and the #1 song was annoying.

    3. It was an okay week, but it wasn't good because of Cheerleader's drop.

  29. Hello guys, sorry for not commenting yet, I've had a busy weekend. Also Billboard Hot 100 is finally out on my blog.

    ReplyDelete
  30. And is it just me or is the Weekend Countdown full of old songs and falling behind other countdowns.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I wish the Weekend Countdown was like the top 45 NEWEST songs instead of popular cause it's getting annoying hearing "cycle" Stressed Out, Love Yourself, Sorry, Hello, Roses (which already sucks), Cale By The Ocean of songs every car ride. We really need a 6 exit week soon but not get rid of songs like Moments and Hollow that will probably leave soon we need crap released a year ago like Exs And Ohs or Can't Feel My Face to leave. And notice I didn't say Shut Up And Dance because I've grown back into it.

      Delete
    2. I don't think this week will be a 6 DTHNOB. I think that March 12, 2016 SHOULD be a 6 DTHNOB week for sure.

    3. That's my bday weekend it better be good.

    4. My birthday week was a 6 DTHNOB week

    6. What's Cale By The Ocean? A type of kale that grows by the ocean?

      Delete
    7. The latest weekend countdown that first aired on my birthday was a the week of October 6, 2012 and by checking on CountownRecap's blog, it was a 4 DTHNOB week.

      Delete
    8. Also, I remember the weekend countdown that first aired on Adrian's birthday, it had no exits and he was upset about that.

      Delete
    9. Also, ffDurp123's birthday weekend in 2015 had 6 exits.

    10. And Sugar was #1 and he put it in orange

    11. Yeah, however my birthday weekend wasn't too too good since my favorite song on the countdown, Oh Cecilia left that week.

    12. My birthday weekend wasn't that good in 2012 because The Fighter left.
