Taylor Swift (12) – Week Of December 20, 2014

And just like that, we have a new record. Congrats Taylor Swift. This is our second-to-last countdown of the year. Ne-Yo hosted this week's countdown. I really think Spyder Harrison should be hosting all the holiday editions for sure. Last year, Britney Spears hosted the Thanksgiving special and it was a disaster. But whatever. Everything but the Top 5 changed this week. So let's get to it. Before we get to this week’s Fresh 45, here are the songs we’re saying goodbye to this week.

Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: Ed Sheeran – Don't (–31)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Calvin Harris/John Newman – Blame (+21)

New Entrants
~ Andy Grammer – Honey I'm Good is okay. Like I said many times. It's not as good as Back Home or any of his previous hits like Fine By Me and Keep Your Head Up. I can tolerate it though.

~ I just realized Hits 1 does not play the original version of James Newton Howard/Jennifer Lawrence – The Hanging Tree, which actually makes sense since the original doesn't have that much to it. The remix is good. I like it. That makes two songs on this countdown from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt. 1 soundtrack.*

*The other is Yellow Flicker Beat.

Hit-Bound
~ Thank god Priory – Weekend left Hit-Bound. Because of this, that makes Kat Dahlia – Crazy the only bad song on Hit-Bound, making it the new worst.

~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:

  • Ed Sheeran – Thinking Out Loud
  • David Guetta/Sam Martin – Dangerous
  • Megan Nicole – Fun
  • 5 Seconds Of Summer – What I Like About You
  • Ariana Grande/The Weeknd – Love Me Harder
  • Tove Lo – Talking Body
  • Pitbull/Ne-Yo – Time Of Our Lives
  • Imagine Dragons – I Bet My Life
  • Kat Dahlia – Crazy
  • The Script – Superheroes
  • AJR – Infinity
  • Shawn Mendes – Life Of The Party
  • Hoodie Allen/Ed Sheeran – All About It
  • Becky G – Can't Stop Dancin'

Top 5 Hit-Bound
1. Shawn Mendes – Life Of The Party
2. Becky G – Can't Stop Dancin'
3. The Script – Superheroes
3. Ariana Grande/The Weeknd – Love Me Harder
5. David Guetta/Sam Martin – Dangerous

The Blurbing Tree
~ Thank you voters! Calvin Harris/John Newman – Blame is higher than it's ever been on the countdown at #13. Now, let's get it into the Top 10.

~ Meghan Trainor – Lips Are Movin' is already in the Top 10. A little aggrevating. But also in the Top 10, it's Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars – Uptown Funk.

~ We're finally having an out-with-the-old-and-in-with-the-new clean up in the countdown. Rather Be is already gone, Bang Bang and Habits dropped into the 30's, Steal My Girl and Amnesia are both out of the teens, and Beg For It, Blame, Jealous, and Night Changes are now in the teens.

~ Maroon 5 – Animals needs to hit #1 soon. I don't want this streak of #1 songs from Maroon 5 to stop here.

~ Bea Miller – Young Blood and Eden XO – Too Cool To Dance both dropped on their second week. Yikes.

~ Fifth Harmony – Sledgehammer only moved up one spot. Let's go! You need to be higher than this!

~ Here's how I stand on the Year End posts:

– "2014 – A Year In Review" was completed earlier this week and will be posted either later today or tomorrow.

– I will create a new page for the Year End Polls later today. Stay tuned for that.

– I have received no info on when Hits 1 will be airing their Top 45 of the year. I'll get back to you guys when I find out.

– The list for My Top 45 Songs Of The Year has been completed and will be posted later this week.

~ Earlier this week, the 2014 Edition of Misheard Song Lyrics came out. You guys should check it out. Some of these are actually pretty funny. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gI5fj8vmc44

My Top 5 Picks
1. Calvin Harris/John Newman – Blame
2. Lorde – Yellow Flicker Beat
3. Taylor Swift – Blank Space
4. Alesso/Tove Lo – Heroes (We Could Be)
5. James Newton Howard/Jennifer Lawrence – The Hanging Tree

  4. Anybody else find it ironic that OneRepublic is at the bottom of the countdown the week their record was broken? And that the last #1 is second-to-the-bottom that same week?

Yeah, I think that may or may not be a coincidence…

  5. What the- Life of the Party debuted on Hit-bound just this week? Jees, this i a good example of the fact that Hits 1 catches onto songs way too late!

  9. I stay up too late, got nothing in my brain
That's what people say mmm, that's what people say mm
I go on too many dates, but I can't make 'em stay
At least that's what people say mmm, that's what people say mmm

But I keep cruising, can't stop, won't stop moving
It's like I got this music in my body and it's gonna be alright

'Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play
And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off
Heartbreakers gonna break, break, break, break, break
And the fakers gonna fake, fake, fake, fake, fake
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off

I'll never miss a beat, I'm lightning on my feet
And that's what they don't see mmm, that's what they don't see mmm
I'm dancing on my own (dancing on my own), I'll make the moves up as I go (moves up as I go)
And that's what they don't know mmm, that's what they don't know mmm

But I keep cruising, can't stop, won't stop grooving
It's like I got this music in my body saying it's gonna be alright

'Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play
And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off
Heartbreakers gonna break, break, break, break, break
And the fakers gonna fake, fake, fake, fake, fake
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off

I, I shake it off, I shake it off
I, I shake it off, I shake it off
I, I shake it off, I shake it off
I, I shake it off, I shake it off

Hey, hey, hey, just think while you've been getting down and out about the liars and dirty, dirty cheats in the world you could have been getting down to this sick beat

My ex-man brought his new girlfriend
She's like "oh my God", but I'm just gonna shake it
And to the fella over there with the hella good hair
Won't you come on over, baby, we can shake, shake, shake

'Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play
And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off
Heartbreakers gonna break, break, break, break, break
And the fakers gonna fake, fake, fake, fake, fake
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off

I, I shake it off, I shake it off
I, I shake it off, I shake it off
I, I shake it off, I shake it off
I, I shake it off, I shake it off
I shake it off, I shake it off
I, I shake it off, I shake it off
I, I shake it off, I shake it off
I, I shake it off, I shake it off
