New Entrants
~ Nico and Vinz – Am I Wrong is the first re-entry we've had in a while. It was expected and is accepted. Stay as long as you like old pal.

~ Kicking off the new entrants with Fergie – L.A. Love (La La). Overall, it's a really good and catchy song that deserves to spend quite a while on this countdown.

~ Vance Joy – Riptide is interesting and I like it for now. I don't think it'll be long before I get sick of it though.

~ Big Data – Dangerous is also an interesting alternative song. My opinion is the same as Riptide. But Riptide is just a little better.

~ Taylor Swift – Welcome To New York is good. But not as good as what Out Of The Woods was. But I can tolerate it (for now anyways).

~ In case anyone doesn't know, I'm a huge fan of John Newman. His voice is phenomenal! I ranked his last hit Love Me Again #3 on My Top 45 Of 2013. I also ranked the 2012 hit Rudimental/John Newman – Feel The Love #5 of 2012. And then there's Calvin Harris. Phenomenal Calvin Harris. His music never disappoints me. Put these two artists together and you have this phenomenal song. It does sound a lot like one of Calvin's previous hits, Sweet Nothing. But Blame is hands-down Calvin's best. I applaud him for picking John Newman to do the vocals. This song better stay for a long while.

Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list. I haven't done one in a while.

  • New Politics – Everywhere I Go (Kings and Queens)
  • Bea Miller – Young Blood
  • David Guetta/Sam Martin – Dangerous
  • Bebe Rexha – I Can’t Stop Drinking About You
  • MisterWives – Reflections
  • Eden XO – (Not) Too Cool To Dance
  • Charli XCX – Break The Rules
  • Magic! – Let Your Hair Down
  • Hozier – Take Me To Church
  • Gwen Stefani – Baby Don't Lie
  • OneRepublic – I Lived
  • Meghan Trainor – Lips Are Movin’
  • Tiffany Houghton – Love Like That
  • Mr. Probz/Robin Schulz – Waves
  • Florida Georgia Line – Dirt

Top 5 Hit-Bound
1. David Guetta/Sam Martin – Dangerous
2. Mr. Probz/Robin Schulz – Waves
3. Eden XO – (Not) Too Cool To Dance
4. OneRepublic – I Lived
5. Magic! – Let Your Hair Down

Blame It On The Blurbs, Don't Blame It On Me
~ Taylor Swift – Out Of The Woods ties with DJ Snake/Lil Jon – Turn Down For What for the Most Hysterically Short Tenure of 2014 spending only one week on the countdown.

~ R5  Heart Made Up On You lasted only two weeks with us unfortunately.

~ Did anyone else notice Spyder Harrison forgot to announce Rixton – Wait On Me being one of the songs that left? I was confused once the sixth entrant aired.

~ Maroon 5 – Animals is already in the Top 3! And it's only it's third week.

~ Rixton – Wait On Me leaves after an annoyingly short tenure. >:(

~ What the hell is OneRepublic – Counting Stars still doing here??? This is beyond ridiculous. If Love Runs Out leaves before Counting Stars, I will be pissed.

~ Magic! – Rude needs to leave. Who still listens to this large piece of crap???

~ Pitbull/John Ryan – Fireball is getting old. Please start to be on your way out soon.

~ Jesse McCartney – Superbad is staying strong on the countdown. Keep it up pal!

~ I can finally download The Vamps/Shawn Mendes – Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart). I've been waiting since I first heard it on the #YouTube15 with Jenna Marbles.

~ Ed Sheeran – Don't at #5 is exactly what I was worried about this week. Please fix this.

~ Congrats Disclosure/Sam Smith – Latch on staying (much) longer than I thought you would.

~ Best song on Jenna Marbles' #YouTube15: Dillon Francis/Brendon Urie – Love In The Middle Of A Firefight

My Top 5 Picks
1. Calvin Harris/John Newman – Blame
2. Fergie – L.A. Love (La La)
3. Ella Henderson – Ghost
4. Cobra Starship – Never Been In Love
5. Nico and Vinz – Am I Wrong

  4. Meghan Trainor – All About That Bass (#4)
  3. Iggy Azalea/Rita Ora – Black Widow (#22)
  2. Fall Out Boy – Centuries (#11)
  1. Taylor Swift – Shake It Off (#1)

Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: Iggy Azalea/Charli XCX – Fancy (–29)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Iggy Azalea/Rita Ora – Black Widow (+19)

New Entrants
~ Long-time Hit-Bound veteran Ella Henderson – Ghost debuted this week. It's really catchy and I really like her voice. I'm surpirsed it took her and Ryan Tedder only 20 minutes to make the song.

~ Taylor Swift debuted with Out Of The Woods. I just love this move Taylor Swift made in her music. I love it. It's a really good song. Well done Taylor. You've amazed me yet again.

Hit-Bound
~ Calvin Harris/John Newman – Blame needs to debut soon!!!

~ Vance Joy – Riptide is on Hit-Bound. I found it pretty flavorless at first. But then I started to get into it. It's good.

~ Magic! – Let Your Hair Down is also on Hit-Bound. It's okay. We'll see if it gets better (or worse).

~ David Guetta/Sam Martin – Dangerous expectedly debuted on Hit-Bound this week.

~ I now have a solid opinion on Meghan Trainor – Title. It's pretty bad. She probably ended up calling her EP Title because she couldn't come up with an actual title.

~ I can't even tell you how bad Bastille – Flaws is. Electronic is not their style of music at all.

~ Lil Jon/Tyga – Bend Ova should debut on Hit-Bound. It's really catchy.

~ Matt Nathanson – Headphones and Mr. Probz – Waves should also debut on Hit-Bound.

In Your Blurbs
~ I'm happy that Iggy Azalea/Charli XCX – Fancy is all the way at #38. But Kongos – Come With Me Now back in the Top 10 is a serious problem. Fix it Hits 1! Can there ever be a week where we don't have an old song in the Top 10?

~ 5 Seconds Of Summer – Amnesia needs to leave. I'm so sick of it it's not even funny.

~ Fall Out Boy – Centuries and Iggy Azalea/Rita Ora – Black Widow made jumps into the Top 3 for the first time.

~ No. It is not an error. Sometimes a song you were so sick of just hypnotizes you into liking it again. And that's what happened with Clean Bandit/Jess Glynne – Rather Be.

~ All six of last week's entrants jumped at #25 and above.

~ Before everyone starts wondering and complaining about why Disclosure/Sam Smith – Latch is #34, Sam Smith – Stay With Me is #45. Songs from the same artist can't be anywhere near each other.

~ Rixton – Wait On Me dropping to #33 is not okay at all. Geez Hits 1.

~ Jessie J/Ariana Grande/Nicki Minaj – Bang Bang is back in the Top 5. Stay there.

~ Nicki Minaj – Anaconda will probably be leaving us soon unfortunately. Thanks for being here anyway.

~ Something tells me OneRepublic – Counting Stars will not leave the countdown until it has been on there for a year.

~ I'm really confused. Is OneRepublic – I Lived on Hit-Bound?

~ Hit 45 Chart is out. Click here to find out if Calvin Harris/John Newman – Blame will hold #1 for a fourth week in a row.

My Top 5 Picks
1. Taylor Swift – Out Of The Woods
2. Rixton – Wait On Me
3. Ella Henderson – Ghost
4. Nico and Vinz – In Your Arms
5. Jessie J/Ariana Grande/Nicki Minaj – Bang Bang

  3. OneRepublic – Love Runs Out (#4)
  2. Ariana Grande/Zedd – Break Free (#5)
  1. Taylor Swift – Shake It Off (#2) [2nd Week At #1]

Biggest DROP!!!… Of The Week: Katy Perry – This Is How We Do (–24)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Tie Between Cobra Starship – Never Been In Love and One Direction – Steal My Girl (+22)

New Entrants
~ Kicking off the new entrants with Dirty Heads – My Sweet Summer. I think this is the perfect song for this time of the year since the main line is "My sweet summer is gone." (And it's the beginning of fall). Even though they may not be talking about the season summer. I really don't know. Overall, it's a catchy song.

~ Nico and Vinz are back with In Your Arms. Though it's not as good as Am I Wrong, it's still a really good song. For Nico and Vinz's second song, it graduated from Hit-Bound much quicker than Am I Wrong. I hope it stays a while.

~ I always wondered how R5 got their name. Then it hit me. There's 5 people and all their names start with R. Obviously, the best one in the band is Ross Lynch. But that's not the point. The point is that Heart Made Up On You is a really good song that needs to stay for a while.

~ Sheppard – Geronimo is really good for an alternative tune. I really like it. Once again, I hope it stays a while.

~ Sam Smith has entered with his third song currently on the countdown. I'm Not The Only One is good. Not as good as Stay With Me. But his vocals in the chorus are really good. So I'll give him that.

~ Save the best for last. Maroon 5 debuted with Animals. I love Maroon 5. They've never really disappointed me. Animals is really catchy and Adam has superior vocals in the chorus. The first time I heard the song was in a commercial that included hamsters driving cars. It was interesting.

Blurbs Made Up On You
~ Somehow, Disclosure/Sam Smith – Latch managed to survive a 6-DTHNOB week with extremely little to no airplay this past week.

~ As said in the hastag, Katy Perry – This Is How We Do dropping was expected because it had very little airplay this past week. Instead we heard Dark Horse a few times.

~ Both of last week's entrants had the biggest jump of the week.

~ Ariana Grande/Zedd – Break Free is suddenly #2. I HIGHLY doubt it'll get any higher than that.

~ I never thought Echosmith – Cool Kids would a Top 5 song. Not even a Top 10 song.

~ Pitbull/John Ryan – Fireball is jumping all over the countdown.

~ Clean Bandit – Rather Be needs to leave. It should've jumped into the Top 10 a long time ago. Now it needs to leave.

~ Betty Who – Somebody Loves You and G.R.L. – Ugly Heart left after 3-week tenures. Somebody Loves You was the one great song that left. This doesn't make up for its Hit-Bound tenure.

~ Rixton – Wait On Me nicely jumped into the teens.

~ That #34 spot should be occupied by a song that deserves to be here.

~ Kongos – Come With Me Now is old and needs to leave. Jumping over #30 is not okay. Especially from #41.

~ Calvin Harris/John Newman – Blame debuted on the American Top 40 last week. It needs to debut here soon!

~ Phillip Phillips – Unpack Your Heart and Matt Nathanson/Lolo – Headphones should debut the countdown.

~ Best song on Jenna Marbles' #YouTube15: The Vamps/Shawn Mendes – Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart) [Yes. Again.]

~ Hit 45 Chart is out! Click here to find out if Calvin Harris/John Newman – Blame will hold #1 for a third week in a row.

~ This week's new entrants completely took over My Top 5 Picks.

My Top 5 Picks
1. Maroon 5 – Animals
2. Nico and Vinz – In Your Arms
3. R5 – Heart Made Up On You
4. Dirty Heads – My Sweet Summer
5. Sheppard – Geronimo

Meghan Trainor (2) – Week Of October 4, 2014

This was an okay week. Only two entrants this week, an annoying #1 song, and an annoying biggest jump of the week. Before we get to this week’s Fresh 45, here are the songs we’re saying goodbye to this week.

  • Enrique Iglesias/Sean Paul – Bailando (#31)
  • Becky G – Shower (#44)

28. Nicki Minaj – Anaconda (#28)
27. Kim Cesarion – Undressed (#23)
26. The 1975 – Girls (#24)
25. Rixton – Wait On Me (#27)
24. Betty Who – Somebody Loves You (#25)
23. Heymous Molly – Life’s A Beach (#22)
22. Jason Derulo – Trumpets (#18)
21. Katy Perry – This Is How We Do (#13)
20. Iggy Azalea/Rita Ora – Black Widow (#7)
19. The Vamps/Demi Lovato – Somebody To You (#39)
18. Clean Bandit/Jess Glynne – Rather Be (#9)
17. Fall Out Boy – Centuries (#15)
16. Nick Jonas – Jealous (#41)
15. Jesse McCartney – Superbad (#16)
14. Charli XCX – Boom Clap (#5)
13. Ed Sheeran – Don’t (#12)
12. Jessie J/Ariana Grande/Nicki Minaj – Bang Bang (#3)
11. Coldplay – A Sky Full Of Stars (#17)
10. MKTO – American Dream (#21)
  9. Tove Lo – Habits (Stay High) (#19)
  8. 5 Seconds Of Summer – Amnesia (#4)
  7. Iggy Azalea/Charli XCX – Fancy (#43) [#NoWords #NotOkay]
  6. Echosmith – Cool Kids (#10)
  5. Ariana Grande/Zedd – Break Free (#11)
  4. OneRepublic – Love Runs Out (#8)
  3. Maroon 5 – Maps (#6)
  2. Taylor Swift – Shake It Off (#1)
  1. Meghan Trainor – All About That Bass (#2) [2nd Week At #1]

Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: Sia – Chandelier (–16)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Iggy Azalea/Charli XCX – Fancy (+36)

New Entrants
~ Coming back from a 2-year hiatus, we have Cobra Starship who teamed up with Icona Pop to make Never Been In Love. I don't usually look at Icona Pop in a good way after I Love It. But they redeemed themselves in this song. And Cobra Starship never really disappoints.

~ One Direction is back with the super catchy Steal My Girl. You had to have heard it at least once during the week with how often it was aired. It's probably their best for now. We'll see how long it goes before it gets old and I'll be wanting it to leave. But for now, it's really good.

Steal My Blurbs
~ Spyder Harrison interrupted the countdown after #26 to play Fergie – L.A. Love (La La La).

~ MKTO – American Dream is already in the Top 10. As far as I can recall, this is only it's third week.

~ Also in the Top 10, we got Tove Lo – Habits. Looks like she's doing a good job of "staying high" (on the countdown).

~ Steal My Girl > FireProof

~ I seriously thought about putting Iggy Azalea/Charli XCX – Fancy in orange after the enormous jump. But I hate All About That Bass so much!!! UGH!!!

~ I feel like writing a letter to Hits 1 saying that kicking Enrique Iglesias/Sean Paul – Bailando out of the countdown is not okay. It's doing well on the AT40. I don't understand. #BringBailandoBack

~ OneRepublic – Love Runs Out is back in the Top 5. Luckily I don't mind because I still think it's good. But I don't want it to become the next Counting Stars. So if it could drop at least out of the Top 10, I'd be happy.

~ Bleachers – I Wanna Get Better needs to leave. It was nice having you around. But you need to leave.

~ Sia – Chandelier is back in the bottom half of the countdown after only two weeks in the teens.

~ On Twitter, someone who I'm assuming is a Heymous Molly fan tweeted a photo of the countdown list from last weekend saying that Life's A Beach is climbing the countdown at #22. Why am I bringing this up? That countdown list was from this blog.

~ Every time Echosmith – Cool Kids comes on, my dad says that it sounds like a Taylor Swift song. I've listened to enough Taylor Swift to know that Cool Kids sounds NOTHING like her style of music.

~ Speaking of Taylor Swift, she's going to help coach all the coaches on this season of The Voice. There's a lot of hate about that. And I don't understand. She's actually a great choice. Not because she's a good singer and makes good music. But because she was once a country artist. That's good for Blake Shelton's team. And she knows a thing or two about pop music now for the other coaches like Adam Levine.

~ New #1 Recommendation For Hits 1: Gavin DeGraw – Fire

~ Jenna Marbles must be really lovin' The Vamps/Shawn Mendes – Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart). This is the fourth straight week where I heard it on the #YouTube15. I can't argue with her though. It's a really good song.

~ Hit 45 Chart for this week is actually out on time this week. Will Calvin Harris/John Newman – Blame hold #1 for a second week in a row? Click here to find out.

~ Don't forget to check out the End Of The Year Countdown Voting Info under the "Pages" gadget on the web version of the site.

My Top 5 Picks
1. Jessie J/Ariana Grande/Nicki Minaj – Bang Bang
2. One Direction – Steal My Girl
3. Cobra Starship – Never Been In Love
4. The Vamps/Demi Lovato – Somebody To You
5. Rixton – Wait On Me
